Put Your Trust in the Right Place

With help from the right place, you can be successful with a business of your own. If you are a Christian, you can get more help from God than anywhere on the net! He can and will give you the guidance and help that you need to have a successful home business, if you will believe that He will do it and have faith in Him. You must let Him guide you and listen to Him - he knows what is best for your life and your situation.

Many people (Christians included) try to make it all on their own. Through much frustration and aggravation, they eventually lose all patience and end up giving up on their dreams. They never even think to go to the Lord with their problems! If they only realized that they are making it more difficult on themselves! Remember to make prayer a daily part of your life. Ask God to help you go in the right direction with your business, give you patience, and help you know what steps you need to take to realize your dream. Believe in Him with everything you have, put your business in His hands, and you will get great rewards!

Of course, you do have to help yourself. God will help you, but you have to help yourself. He does not want to hand you success on a silver platter, he wants you to work for it and earn it. He knows who trusts in Him, who works hard to try and better their lives. If you make an honest effort to better your life, your family and your business, put your faith and trust in Him, he will answer your prayers and give you the guidance you need to be successful in anything you do.

Accomplish Something EVERY Day

If you are trying to start an online business, or you already have one, it's very important to do something every single day to further your business. Whether posting on your blog, writing an article, whatever it may be, get something accomplished. Building an online presence is a slow task, similar to building a brick building, brick by brick. Most days, I like to do several different things for my business, but occasionally there are days you just can't spend alot of time. On those days, pick one task you want to accomplish, and DO it! You will feel better about your business and yourself. A neglected business is a failing business.

Honesty - How Refreshing!

A couple of days ago, I was surfing TrafficSwarm and came upon a home business opportunity that I thought looked pretty interesting. Of course it was FREE (ha-ha) as so many programs claim to be, only for you to find out after you enter your name and e-mail address that it really isn't. I e-mailed the person who I signed up under requesting proof that he had been paid by this program before I spent time setting it all up, testing it out to see if I would make any money, and putting it on my Home Business site. I was absolutely amazed when I received an e-mail back from him, saying he was still in the program, but he refused to pay all of the upgrade charges (this opportunity has multiple sites you join to make money). He told me he had been in the program since October 2006 (over a year) and hadn't made any money! Not many people will be that honest with you, and I really appreciated that honesty. When you work at home, you don't have time to spend working on something that is not going to produce any results! This person knows who he is, and if he reads this post, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Why the Bad Rap?

Mention the words "Direct Sales", and people look at you as though you have cursed at them! I don't know what started this bad karma, but it simply isn't deserved. I made several sales calls in my local town this morning, and I actually enjoy it! Why not? You get to meet new people, see the products they carry, and even make some money every now and then. And sometimes you learn a few things, such as what types of products people like and what types of prices they charge. This helps you go back to make a second call. You know what types of products they are looking for, and what their price range is, making it even easier to sell to them the second time! If you believe in your products, direct sales is THE way to go when you desire to make a good living from home. There are so many different ways to market: To the public as I have been demonstrating above, home parties, church friends, online, the list is endless! So if you think direct sales is such a bad thing, don't believe it - try it for yourself sometime!

Many people try every day to start a home business of their own, but very few succeed. It takes perserverance, dedication and patience to be successful in starting your own home business. It also takes a willingness to learn. If you don't have these qualities, you shouldn't even waste your time.

Weary of the Forty Hour Work Week?

Are your working 40 hours per week making someone else money? That is what the biggest percentage of our population does, day after day, week after week. If you are dreaming of having your own business and the luxury of working from your own home, it is possible! You can work the hours you want, the days you want, and plan your work around your life, not the other way around!

It takes time and dedication, but working at home is so rewarding that it is certainly worth the effort and perserverance it takes to achieve your goal.
First of all, you need to decide just what type of home business you want to pursue. Is your interest in electronics? How about candles, computers, e-books or some type of software? Whatever your interest is, that is where you need to concentrate your efforts. If you try to pursue a business where the product or service doesn't really interest you, it will never have a chance to succeed. You must believe in what you have to offer!

Once you have decided what type of business you are going to set up, you then concentrate on either building a website (or having someone do it for you), or joining an affiliate program which offers the types of products you are looking for. An affiliate program will allow you to sell someone else's product and make a percentage on each item or service you sell. This can usually be done without a website, or if you do have a website, you can advertise these products there. Joining several affiliate programs gives you the opportunity to make even more money!

If you do have your own products or services to offer, put them on your website, and once your website is ready it's time to advertise! Whether working with affiliate programs or your own products, advertising is what gets people to your site - without traffic, you have no sales!

There are endless options for advertising your programs. Many of them don't cost you a dime, and are extremely effective. Writing articles with a link to your site in the author box is a great way to generate traffic. Posting in forums, submitting your site to directories, exchanging links with other site owners, uploading your site to Google Base - these are all excellent ways to send more visitors to your site. More visitors equal more sales! The more links to your website, the better rank you will have with search engines, and this is extremely important when trying to get a good page ranking.

Be ready to spend plenty of time and effort when building your business. It's not easy, and it does take patience, work, and lot's of studying and learning from others. You will learn new things every day from reading other peoples experiences on forums, networking groups, all over the net. But it really is fun and rewarding. Dedicate yourself, map out a plan, and you can create a successful home business for yourself!
